October Upcoming Events
10-5-06, Two USATF national championships will be held within an easy
drive, the Tufts Healthplan 10K for women in Boston on
Monday, Columbus Day at 12:00 noon.
10-4-06, is the Masters (men
and women over 40) 5K cross country
championships in Saratoga Springs, NY with separate races for
men 40+ at 11:00, men 50+ at 11:30, all women at 12:00
noon and men over 60+ at 12:45. The Harriers will pay entry fees and we're trying
to field teams
(open women and masters women in
Boston) all teams
in Saratoga Springs. If interested please call Art ASAP at 737-4559 so we can pre-enter
and save money (entry fees are escalating!)
While both are excellent races, Boston is really a
not to be missed
event.
September Upcoming Events
Our web site is being revamped (we could use some help on
this from any techies on the club) and our schedule is a
casualty… thus here’s a chronological listing of some of the
more noteworthy upcoming events.
September 17, Sunday 11:15 am USATF 5K Championships. Providence, RI Post entries are accepted
and we need one more open male runner for a respectable team (We
have four, five to score). It would help to have another women
open women too as we have only three, just enough to score. A
chance to meet and race against Anthony Famiglietti and Amy
Rudolph.
September 18, Monday 6:00
pm Harrier board meeting at Carrie Figiel’s house.
September 19, Tuesday 7:00
pm Annual meeting of the New England Association of USATF at
the Newton Marriott. Every member has a vote. If you’re at all
interested in our sport you should consider attending.
October 1, Sunday,
11:00 am
Harvard, MA USATF-New England 10 mile Championship. The next
to the last chance for all our teams and individuals to improve
in the Grand Prix standings. Five Harriers remain in contention
for the ironman award. (Rich Clark, Joe and Cindy Fois, Paul
Jensen and Steve O’Neil) Complete standings have been updated
on the USATF-New England web site. Let’s finish strong, men,
women, masters, seniors, veterans.
October 9, Monday
12pm, Boston,
MA The 30th Annual Tufts Health Plan 10 K for women
and USATF National 10K Championships. Starts and finishes at the
Boston Common. Not to be missed! A great race! Harriers
will field open and master teams.
October 15, Sunday, Saratoga
Springs, NY USATF National Masters 5K Cross Country
Championships. Races start at 11:00 AM. We plan to field teams
in as many divisions as possible. All info on their web site.
October 29, Sunday, 8:30 am
Falmouth, MA USATF-New England Marathon Championships at the
Cape Cod Marathon.. The final race in the championship series.
November 6, Monday, 7:00 pm USATF-New England
Meeting to select the championship races for
2007. Every member gets one vote. Will the Harriers be well
represented?
November 5, Sunday,
Franklin Park, Boston.
USATF-New
England Cross Country Champs for open and masters. Races start at 10:00 am
November 12, Sunday,
Freestyle Farm, Amherst, NH USATF-New
England Junior Olympic Cross Country Champs.
November 19, Sunday,
Queensbury, NY USATF-Region
I Junior Olympic Cross Country Champs.
December 2, Saturday, 10:00 am
Forest Park in Springfield. The start of the 27th
Annual Snowstorm Classics. First race is on the 10K course, a
good tune up for San Francisco next week.
December 9, Saturday, Golden
Gate Park in San Francisco, CA National USATF Club
Cross Country Championships. The Harriers will be well
represented in all the races.
December 9, Saturday, Spokane, WA. USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.
