I work in labor and KNOW back pain. Mine contributed from a mild herniation between my L4 and L5 vertabrae. Yes it DID affect my ability to run the way I wanted too. I would say the best thing to do is check in with a orthopaedic (think I spelled that right) doctor, and then perhaps seek physical therapy to better identify what type of imbalances your body has, like asymetrical strengths and weaknesses in certain muscle groups. Every person's running style contributes to different areas of the body and of course how you train. You could also shout out here to the doctors opn this forum and our own Mile Lemay will here your calls for help. Otherwise I recomend New England Orhto. and or Steve Black in the PR department. Good Luck! I've been there b4.
