Due to the pathophysiology of the body, it does not make much sense to take creatine by mouth. Most of it will be wasted and will not be available in it's most powerful form. That being said, I did take creatine for about six months in late 1998 and ran some of my fastest times in the last 15 years. I took it right after hard workouts and with meals on those days that I did really hard interval sessions with the thought that it may help me recover faster. I'm not sure if it was the creatine or if I was just in really good shape. I have discussed this with many other MD's and experts in the field of "optimizing physical performance" and they all agree with the pathophysiology part but my personal experience makes me wonder!
